Despite squeezing out one post in late July, I’ve just kinda left my website high and dry. This is due to the mixture of the usual of feeling uninspired and not finding enough time in the day to execute posts. So I wanted a little post to help summary what I’ve been doing lately, as I’m hoping it will be the start of motivation in writing again for myself again, so here we GO!
Danny celebrated the big 30th, so we jetted off to Costa Rica, which you can read a tiny bit about here (as I have yet to finish all my other posts on this holiday – bad Jess). Some of my favourite highlights from this holiday were seeing lots of cool animals like a coati and sloths up close in person, trying a dirty monkey (it’s a drink) and pushing myself to do things that I wouldn’t normally do like ziplining and horse riding – which I won’t be doing again anytime soon!
I had tickets for Russell Brand, but forgot to actually go, so that was a nice waste of money right there!
Went to the dentist – as always a visit where I get lectured.
Had a weekend away in Milton Keynes for Danny’s cousin wedding. This was the wedding where I packed everything except my entire makeup, so I had to purchase a WHOLE FACE AGAIN. That is £70 that I didn’t really want to spend, but oh well – lesson well learnt there.
I joined the gym, in my attempt to get a flat stomach.
On the 7th of July Danny & I celebrated our 4 year anniversary by both going to work and not doing anything special – how romantic?
My sister, nephew & I visited this 999 Display in Eastbourne.
Celebrated my mum’s birthday.
Got to hang out in my first hot tub.
Went on an epic cycling adventure at the New Forest for my friend’s 30th where we got drenched in the rain, but everything was fine because we had gin. Well at least, I did.
I attended my grandma’s sister’s 100th birthday party up in Wokingham. This party had donkeys, so it was something else.
Did a bit of PYO only to find that all the strawberries had gone for the year – bad times.
Went to Brighton Pride.
Visited Canada, (for the first time) specifically, Toronto with work for my first ever work retreat. It was nice to see all of my colleagues in person – as we only ever talk on Slack with the odd video call here and there. There I stayed at the amazing Kingsbridge Centre, did loads of cool projects and team building activities. I did get some downtime of being able to go out on a night out in downtown Toronto and I got to go to the epic theme park of Wonderland.
Celebrated another friend’s birthday, this time we went out for Mexican so I had all the tacos.
Attended a hen party for my girl Soph who has as I write this has already got married this weekend just gone <3 EEEKK!
Sadly my childhood kitty Lara has to be put to sleep as she wasn’t very well. I was sobbing for hours and hours when my parents told me, but I knew she had not been herself for a while and that this was the best thing for her. RIP girl.
I attempted to make cauliflower pizza, all I can say is FOLLOW THE RECIPE. Don’t do what I did and not drain the cauliflower, there is a reason…
Bank holiday meant having a BBQ, because we never get good weather so…
My nephew Phoenix turned 2 which is insane, because it was only the other day that was born. My sister hosted an epic The Hungry Caterpillar Birthday party.
There was one week in August, where Danny & I pretty much couldn’t be bothered to cook, so for 5 nights in a row we either ate out or had takeaway. This was all down to sheer LAZINESS, but we had a good time doing so.
So that is a wrap for now. I hope you enjoyed my little summary of what I’ve been up too and I will catch you on the next post.
Until then xo
